Having pets is the norm for so many families, and many Hunter's Brook families have dogs or cats.  But with that pleasure comes responsibility.

Many homeowners (your neighbors) do not have pets.  Many of our families have family members young and old,  that have the right to enjoy there grass lawns, free of any unwanted pet surprises.

Ipett it against local law to allow your pet to be outside, without a leash.  You will risk a fine and have animal control contain the pet in their facilities.

If you own a cat, do not let the cat freely roam the neighborhood.  The cat will naturally find a convenient place to do it's business, usually your neighbors lawn.  Be considerate.

If you own a dog, the same rules apply as above.  When walking your dog, it is recommended that you 'curb' your dog, and not allow the pet to deficate or urinate on a lawn.  Many owners work hard to maintain a great looking lawn, and 'brown dead spots" are an eye-sore not to mention the carelessness of the pet owner.

It is the law that you pickup after your pet.  Below are some ordinances:
From Hunter's Brook Covenants and Restrictions:

Section 16. Livestock and Poultry

No animals, livestock, pigeons or poultry of any kind shall be raised, bred or kept on any Lot or in any Home, except that dogs, cats and other common household pets (no exotic pets) may be kept, provided that they are not kept, bred or maintained for any commercial purpose. Animals shall not be housed outside of any Home.

Hunter's Brook is part of the city of Hackettstown, and must abide by city ordinances.
